Five33 Educational Program

Five33 has strategically partnered with Milwaukee Montessori School over the past five years to rigorously test and refine our educational drone racing kits. These kits have been meticulously built, flown, and successfully used in competitions, ensuring they meet the high standards of professional racing. Our collaboration has resulted in a kit that embodies the essential characteristics of a professional racing drone, while being adaptable for use at elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. We have maintained the complexity of the building and programming processes to provide teachers and students with an authentic and comprehensive experience of drone technology, mirroring the realities faced by professional FPV pilots.

*Every Kit is built with a 4 student team in mind. Each Kit includes 2 unassembled drone kits, 4 Controllers, 1 set of goggles, and all necessary accessories*

Level 1

The Level 1 Educational Kit is the perfect introduction to drone technology for students in younger grades. This kit is designed for young learners, providing a hands-on experience without the complexity of soldering. The Tiny Trainer V2, equipped with HDZero video transmission and ELRS connection, offers a straightforward, plug-and-play assembly process, allowing students to focus on learning the basics of drone operation and flight.

Features

No Soldering Required: Ensures safety and simplicity, making it perfect for young students.

Plug and Play Assembly: The pre-soldered Flight Control board and connectors enable easy and quick assembly, making learning and understanding easier.

HDZero Integration: Provides high-definition video transmission, allowing students to experience clear and immersive FPV (First Person View) flying.

ELRS Connection: Reliable and low-latency control link that is ready to use right out of the box.

Zero Programming: Fully pre-configured and pre-bound, allowing students to start flying immediately after assembly.

Level 2

The Level 2 Educational Drone Kit is designed for students in grades 4-6, providing an intermediate challenge that introduces basic soldering skills. This kit bridges the gap between simple plug-and-play drones and more complex builds, giving students a deeper understanding of drone technology and assembly. While the flight controller (FC) all-in-one (AIO) board is pre-soldered, students will need to solder the ELRS receiver and HDZero video transmitter, fostering practical electronics skills.

Features

Minimal Soldering Required: Motor connections remain plug and play, while video transmission and radio receiver connections are soldered in place. This amounts to 8 soldering points in total.

HDZero Integration: Provides high-definition video transmission, allowing students to experience clear and immersive FPV (First Person View) flying.

ELRS Connection: Reliable and low-latency control link that is ready to use right out of the box.

Not Pre-Configured: Encourages students to learn about drone setup and configuration, fostering problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Level 3

The Level 3 Educational Drone Kit is tailored for students in grades 7-8, offering a comprehensive and challenging experience that mimics building a professional race drone. This kit requires full assembly from start to finish, with students soldering all components to the flight controller (FC) all-in-one (AIO) board. Students will also configure the drone, learning about software setup, calibration, and tuning. This advanced kit provides an in-depth understanding of drone technology and hones a wide range of technical skills.

Features

Full Soldering Required: Students solder all components, gaining advanced soldering and electronics skills.

HDZero Integration: Ensures high-definition video transmission, providing a professional-level FPV flying experience.

ELRS Connection: Students will configure and bind the ELRS receiver, learning the intricacies of drone communication systems.

Comprehensive Learning: Students build the drone from the ground up, understanding every aspect of its construction and operation.

Not Pre-Configured: Students configure the drone, learning about software setup, calibration, and tuning.
